October Julep Maven Box

Wow, is this post late, or what? This is my Julep Maven Box for the month of October. I chose the Maven's choice option because I wasn't a fan of the crackles that came in the other boxes. Also, one of the colors in this box, Lisa, was my ultimate favorite for the month, and I really wanted to try it out, so this box looked ever better since it has Lisa in it. But without further ado, here's the box and it's contents:

Just opened. It's got the Julep quote as well as the information card, like always.

This month's box came with a little bag of candy corn and two pots of glitter, one in orange and one in black.

Here are the polishes all wrapped up.

These are the colors. I got Lisa, Eloise, and Keira.

Lisa. It's a taupe-y color. While I haven't tried it on my nails yet, I am really excited to have this color. I don't have anything like it in my collection, so I had to get it!

Eloise. This is a dark navy blue, which looked much prettier in the pictures than it did on my nails. This was the first color from the box I used, and I was going to do a NOTD, but not only did I get busy and forget, but the manicure itself didn't last long, so I gave up on the idea. I'll show you guys someday what it looks like. Maybe it will look better on my toes...

Keira. This is a cranberry red, and let me just tell you, it looks absolutely gorgeous on my toes. I usually fall in love with a seasonal toe color, and just keep putting the same color on every time, and I think I found on for this fall. It's really pretty, and I really think this would look pretty paired with Lisa. Maybe it will be in a future blog post... hint hint.

Here they all are together. Overall, it was a successful box. I was really happy with the colors, and I am really glad I didn't end up skipping this month. I get these boxes to buy polishes that I don't already have in my collection, and I think I definitely did that this month.

Halloween Spirit & An Explanation

Meet Henry :) He's the cute little pumpkin that I carved with some friends. Isn't he cute!? He looks kind of like an old man now that I look at him...

Anyways, I owe you an explanation for why I've been gone. Today, I closed one of the two shows I've been working on. It's a HUGE relief. The rehearsal process for this show has been really difficult, and the director was terrible to work with. So not only have I had a PILE of homework every night when I finally get done with rehearsal at 11pm, but I also was in a very negative environment at rehearsal. All I wanted was to come home and sleep. I didn't really want to blog in a bad mood, because I knew it would translate into this blog, and that's not what I want. But I'm in a better mood tonight, and I have time for once, so I thought I'd come on here and chat with you :) A lot has happened since I last got a chance to post on here, and once I'm done writing and publishing this post, I will pre-write a couple of posts that have been waiting oh-so-patiently to go up on here.

While you wait for those, here are a couple more pictures of Henry...

(this one is him sitting on my balcony looking in to my room. How cute?!)

Glade Expressions Collections

I showed these in a Target haul a while ago. They are the Glade Expressions Oil Diffuser and Room Spray.

My room spray is in Fuji Apple and Cardamom Spice , which is the only one I have a picture of.
I really like the room spray. It was VERY fragrant and it filled the room up with a fragrance quickly, and stay ed in the air for a while. What I didn't like was the top. I originally bought one in the cotton fragrance, and when I brought it home and went to spray it, the spray was broken. I had to take the spray back to Target and exchange it. When I went back to the isle to get a new one to exchange it for, I started trying to spray the others in the store and realized that a lot of them (every 1 out of 3) wouldn't spray. They were broken. It was kind of frustrating, so if you go to buy it, I definitely suggest spraying it in the store to make sure that it works. They do have 4 really good scent options though, and I think you can find something for everyone.

The diffuser was in the scent Lavender and Juniper Berry. This thing smells wicked amazing. I have been a die-hard fan of the Wallflowers from Bath and Body Works for about a year now, and they just don't compare to this diffuser. The scent was strong since day one, and it looks really classy in my dorm room. Literally, EVERYONE who walks in mentions that my room smells so good compared to normal dorm rooms. The only downside is that you can't unplug it or turn it off to conserve the diffuser liquid, so after almost a month it was completely empty. But the refills are about $2 cheaper than the starter kit, so I figure I'll just go back to Target and get a new one of these. Definitely in the same scent, though, because I loved it so much.

Have you tried these yet? And will you? Let me know!

Disclaimer: I am a BzzAgent, and they sent me coupons for a free starter kit to try these products out. This is a completely honest review, as you can tell, and I will be repurchasing these with my own money.

Monday Update: October 8th!

I haven't blogged in almost a week. Bad Katie...

My excuse, take it or leave it: this week, we closed a show, and so I've had to do stuff for the show and then  this weekend was the cast party and striking the set. I've had a lot on my hands. This week is also the first midterm week, so I've had a lot of school work. AND, I open another show in two weeks, so I am doing double the amount of rehearsals. That's a long excuse...

I think I'm coming down with something too :( The weather's changed, and with how much my body has exerted itself this past week, I think my body is ready to shut down on me. Boo.

BUT, I am not giving up on blogging! I will have some new posts up soon, and I am working on some great stuff too! Plus, Halloween is coming up, and I LOVE Halloween, so there should be some fun stuff in the future!!!

What happened this week for you?

Bath and Body Works Mini Haul

Here is just a small haul from Bath and Body Works that I bought a couple of weeks ago. I know, it's kind of late, but better late than never, right?
Here's what I got:

This is from the September 15th party that they had for their Fall scents. They did a special on candles (2 for $20) and they also were giving away a $9.50 candle in Pumpkin Carving as well as the little bag that is underneath it. The only catch is that you had to buy a home fragrance item to get the free gift.
It just so happened that my roommate and I needed another wallflower bulb at the same time. Usually, I buy them in bulk, and I have a bunch at home ready to come back to college with me, but I can't bring them back until Christmas because that's the only time I'm not flying home. So, I went and bought one bulb, and that should last us for another month. I'm sure they will have another special going on in a month, so I'll go back then if I need another one. The bulb I got is in the scent Autumn. It kind of smells like Leaves but it's more apple-y smelling. It's an amazing scent! As for the Pumpkin Carving candle, it will probably be a gift to someone, because I don't really burn candles. It smells so tasty though!!!

Did you end up going to the party? If so, what did you buy?

Monday Update: October 1st!

Happy first day of October! We only have 30 days until Halloween!!! Get excited!!!

I've had a busy Monday, and I'm only now getting this up, so I apologize that this is kind of last minute.

My weekend was good :) I went home on Friday, and I went to an orthodontist appointment, and then to a high school football game. Then, on Saturday I went to a fair, and it was super fun! I got some shopping done, and just overall had a great time. It rained on Friday and Saturday though, so we had about as much fun as we possibly could in the rain. Sunday, I flew back to college, and here I am Monday :)

I didn't get a chance to watch Castle tonight, nor the premiere of Once Upon A Time or Revenge (which both premiered Sunday). Overall, I'm super behind on television, and I wont have a chance to catch up for a while.

This week is going to suuuucccckkkkK! I have SO much due this week, and so much work that needs to get done while I'm going to late night rehearsals. It's not going to be a good week, and I apologize in advance if I am slacking. I usually write posts ahead of time so that I don't have to worry as much about them throughout the week, but I'm even behind on that. I'm just failing everything today...

Well, back to homework for me. If I'm lucky, I'll actually get some sleep tonight.
