March Julep Maven Box!

This is what is in Julep's March box! This month, they also retired the "America Beauty" profile and instead replaced it with the "Modern Beauty" profile! I have to say, Julep has really listened to their fans, and I think that's a really great thing for a company to do!

Above are the colors that are coming in the box this month. They are really pretty pastels! That being said, I did skip this month's box, not because I didn't like the colors (on the contrary!) but I just feel like I have too many polishes, too many product, etc. and with Spring coming up, I'm just trying to declutter my life, as you will see in some upcoming posts.

Did you get the box? Let me know which profile YOU wen't with! If you aren't already a Julep Maven, you should check it out HERE! Your fist box is FREE with the code FREE BOX!

NOTD: Julep Maven's Julianne

This is Julianne from Julep Maven's February Box. HOW FREAKING PRETTY?! I am IN LOVE with this color, you have no idea. I just think it's the perfect shade of muted blue. I can't get enough of it. Ingrid from that box is going to be the next color that goes on my nails, because that's actually the color that convinced me to get the box. Stay tuned for that post!

February 2013 Julep Box Opening!

Yay! I love when I have hard days only to go to my mailbox and get showered with nail polish :)
This is what came in my February Julep Maven Box. I changed from It-girl to Boho-Glam. I've never chosen anything other than these two options, oddly. I was really tempted to try the holographics this month, though. But I just couldn't get these colors out of my head. They were just something that I didn't have.

The first thing that they included was: a lash crimper and two chocolate hearts. Mama likes chocolate :) They were a nice, unexpected bonus :)
They also had in there the Freedom Top Coat, which is supposed to make your nail polish act like gel nails, lasting twice as long as normal polish. This was another HUGE reason that I didn't skip this month. I was just so curious about the top coat :P The other box next to it is the Oxygen Nail Treatment. I don't know much about this, but I am excited to try it and see what I think.

These were the actual polished that I got in the box. The orange color is called Ingrid, and the light grey-blue is called Julianne. The colors were not wanting to show up true to color for me at all, so I will paint my nails in the future with them and show them in the daylight soon :)

Let me know what you got! And if you aren't already a maven, you NEED to get your first box. It's awesome and only a penny! Click here to be directed to their site!

February Julep Maven Box Options

Did you order your Julep Maven February Box this month? I skipped January's Nudes and Neons, and I skipped this one as well, but this time the colors just wouldn't get out of my mind. So I changed my mind and ordered a box. I'll make sure to show it to you all when it comes in! I'm so excited!

NOTD: Julep Maven's Hailee

This is another REALLY old post. This was actually a NOTD from November, right after I got the November Julep Box. But this shows you a close up of the texture and color that Hailee gives off. I really liked the suede finish more than I thought I would! It's subtle, but it's still got a shine to it in the light.

**Sorry the picture was at night. I had work the next day and I work in our theater's set construction shop, so my nails would have been destroyed by the next day.

NOTD: Julep Maven's IVY and VIVIEN

I've just been painting my nails like a fiend! Here is my current NOTD:
The blue sparkly color is called Ivy and the gold glitter tip on my ring finger is called Vivien. Both polishes were in the It Girl box in December from Julep Maven. So pretty! I loved both of these polishes. The best part? This manicure stayed on my nails for about a week without chipping too much, which is amazing, especially with how hard I am on my nails! Two thumbs up!

November Julep Maven Box

This is one of the older posts that I promised. I can't believe I never got this posted until now! This is what came in my Julep Maven November 2012 box.

The purple/silver one below is Nora, the olive green color is Hailee, and the fuzzy clear one is the Matte Top Coat. Nora is no longer in my possession, though. The color matched one of my friend's formal dresses, and so it was one of her Christmas presents, so you will never see a blog post of it unless I can get a picture of the polish on her nails. Sorry!

All of these polishes had a matte suede finish to them. This was something I never experienced in a nail polish. Usually, I like my polishes to be super shiny, but I actually really liked the finish to these polishes. I have not yet tried the matte top coat yet, though. I'm kind of scared of that one's finish!

The other thing that was in the box were three nail polish remover pads. I haven't tried those yet, either. I've been busy, I'm sorry! And I've kind of been saving those for when I travel.

NOTD: Harper by Julep Maven

This polish is called Mermaid Vomit. Just kidding. But that's what I call it! This is actually Harper from my December Julep Maven box. It came in the IT girl box, and to be honest, it was my sole reason for buying the box that month. It's just such a pretty color. Here are a couple more pictures to see if any of them can do the polish justice...

That's better. It's a little more sparkly here. This polish applies like a dream, and it wasn't super clumpy like a lot of glitter polishes can be. Love this color!

NOTD: Julep Maven's Hilary

As promised on the last post, this is what is on my nails right now:

As you can see, this is Hilary from my Julep Maven purchase from this month. The color is a brown with gold, red, silver, and orange sparkles. This took about 3 coats before it was opaque, but it's totally worth it! It's such a pretty color!

This polish is definitely a keeper! I am going to have to start cleaning out my nail polish collection and finding a good way to store it, though, because I've accumulated WAY too many polishes. I'm starting to just get these boxes if there is something really unique that I don't have, otherwise I just become a polish hoarder.

What is on your nails right now?

(And yes, the top picture captured my roommate's and my Christmas lights on our balcony! This is the last time you will probably see them, too because right now I am getting ready to head home for the holidays! See you all when I get home!)

December Julep Maven Box!

Just a quick heads-up: I opened this box the day that I got it, but I've been getting home so late that there is no light to take pictures with, so this is literally just the box and the polishes. I didn't include anything else from the box and/or try to repack it because everything is already so scattered...

Now onto what I got this month!

This is the December It Girl Box with two add-ons which are shipped separately.

These are the three polishes that came in the box. I'm most excited about Harper because it looks like a mermaid threw up sparkles, which is clearly what I want to put on my nails...Wow, you can tell it's finals week. Anyways, ONWARD!

These were my two add-ons for the month. Cindy (the green one) is actually going to be part of one of my friend's Christmas presents and Hilary (the brown sparkles one) is on my nails today. NOTD blog post already planned!

What box did you get/what add-ons? And which polish is your favorite for the month?

Julep Maven December Box...

...options were just released and they are AMAZING! It seems like everyone is gearing up for the holidays with glitter nail polish, and Julep is no exception. They have come out with some REALLY pretty colors this time! Check them out:

See?! So pretty! Which colors are your favorite and which profile did you pick? I need to know because I'm so on the fence on what I should get this time!

October Julep Maven Box

Wow, is this post late, or what? This is my Julep Maven Box for the month of October. I chose the Maven's choice option because I wasn't a fan of the crackles that came in the other boxes. Also, one of the colors in this box, Lisa, was my ultimate favorite for the month, and I really wanted to try it out, so this box looked ever better since it has Lisa in it. But without further ado, here's the box and it's contents:

Just opened. It's got the Julep quote as well as the information card, like always.

This month's box came with a little bag of candy corn and two pots of glitter, one in orange and one in black.

Here are the polishes all wrapped up.

These are the colors. I got Lisa, Eloise, and Keira.

Lisa. It's a taupe-y color. While I haven't tried it on my nails yet, I am really excited to have this color. I don't have anything like it in my collection, so I had to get it!

Eloise. This is a dark navy blue, which looked much prettier in the pictures than it did on my nails. This was the first color from the box I used, and I was going to do a NOTD, but not only did I get busy and forget, but the manicure itself didn't last long, so I gave up on the idea. I'll show you guys someday what it looks like. Maybe it will look better on my toes...

Keira. This is a cranberry red, and let me just tell you, it looks absolutely gorgeous on my toes. I usually fall in love with a seasonal toe color, and just keep putting the same color on every time, and I think I found on for this fall. It's really pretty, and I really think this would look pretty paired with Lisa. Maybe it will be in a future blog post... hint hint.

Here they all are together. Overall, it was a successful box. I was really happy with the colors, and I am really glad I didn't end up skipping this month. I get these boxes to buy polishes that I don't already have in my collection, and I think I definitely did that this month.

Julep's Maven's October Box

Yesterday, Julep Maven released the new colors for their October box!

Do you like them? Hate them? What are your thoughts?
Honestly, I'm torn. I don't know if I want to skip this month, or get a box, and if I get a box, which one I want.

Please comment and let me know which colors are your favorites!

BREAKING NEWS! Apparently enough people complained about how crackles are so yesterday that Julep Maven came out with an extra box tonight:
This is the extra choice that we are getting, which I think is much better than the original choices we were given. I think I might actually get it! This is why I love Julep Maven. They listen to their customers and try to make things better.

NOTD: Julep Maven Sasha (TOES!)

This is what is on my toes right now. I thought I would actually show you, instead of just tell you this time. If you don't like looking at other people's feet, then I'm sorry :P

This is Julep Maven'ts Sasha. It was in my Boho Glam introductory box that I got for a penny.

As you hopefully can tell, it's a super pretty neon coral color that shows up so pretty on my toes! My favorite part? This color on your toes make you look super tan! I think it's a great color for the summer, and I'm definitely going to be rocking this for the next week (or for as long as I can get away with it!)

No Julep Maven Box?

I decided to skip the September Julep Maven box this time around. I wasn't super impressed with the colors, or with the mascara that came with most of the boxes.
This month's boxes featured colors that were designed or picked by Tina Turk (please correct me if I'm wrong!!) I have no clue who she is, all that I know is that she picked a lot of basic, boring colors. Honestly, I  had dupes of most of these colors, and I didn't feel like paying $19.99 just to get something in the mail.

I didn't make this post to gripe. I love Julep Maven, and I really appreciate that they give you a sneak peak of the box and allow you to skip each month when you don't like what's being offered. I really just made this post to see if anyone did end up getting the box this month? Post picture or link me to your blog post if you did end up ordering, and tell me why! Make me wish that I'd ordered it this month!

Julep Maven Boho Glam August Box

I got my Julep Maven box in the mail yesterday! Here it is:
I changed my profile this month to Boho-Glam (I took two quizzes to see if they really did do a style profile of an individual. The e-mail that I ended up ordering my first box was with the It-Girl profile instead of what I believe I really am, which is Boho Glam, and what my first real style profile said I was.) and I'm very happy that I did.

I received the featured nail polish remover, as well as the polishes Piper (the green metallic) and Isla (the pearly white metallic). I fell in LOVE with these colors, and if it weren't for these two colors being in the same box, I would have skipped this month only because I have a lot of metallic colors already in my collection. I'm very excited to wear these polishes. They are super unique, and just downright gorgeous.

Also in the box was a Julep Maven mini tote bag, which is coming to college with me. It's the perfect size for taking a lunch in, if you aren't in college yet, or even if you are in college and you don't have time for lunch, just throw some food in there and you are good to go! The boxes don't usually come with a tote, but they made them for their birthday month, which I thought was cute :)

Hope you are having a great day! I'm off to dinner with my family, and then to paint my nails!
